MELFORT – Melfort RCMP are searching for a woman believed to have defrauded an elderly woman of a large sum of money and ask the public’s help identifying the suspect.
Melfort RCMP say they are assisting Cornwall Police Service in their fraud investigation and have determined the suspect was, or is, in the Melfort area. Police say that on Dec. 19, 2022, the elderly woman was defrauded in a grandparent scam.
The suspect is about 5-foot-5 to -8 with dark hair and brown eyes.
