Jury trial set in Battleford for Jason Chartier's accused killer

A jury trial is scheduled to start in Battleford Court of King's Bench on Sept. 25.

BATTLEFORD – A jury trial will start in Battleford Court of King’s Bench Sept. 25 for a Buffalo Narrows man accused of killing Jason Chartier in 2018.

Robert young, now 69, is charged with second-degree murder. RCMP had found Chartier’s body on Dec. 20, 2018, after getting a call at approximately 1 p.m. about an injured and unconscious man in a shed behind a home in Buffalo Narrows. EMS declared Chartier, 42, deceased at the scene.

Young was arrested by RCMP Major Crimes Unit without incident in Buffalo Narrows on Jan. 13, 2021.
