PRINCE ALBERT – Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team (PACRT) arrested 26-year-old Tyler Russell Shane Bear who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. He was charged with additional firearms and drug trafficking offences.
On July 19, PACRT saw a vehicle at a home in the 1700 Block of Spence Street that had been involved in multiple flights from police overnight. The suspected driver was wanted Canada wide for a parole suspension warrant. Members of PACRT began surveillance on the residence when Bear was observed leaving on a bicycle. He was arrested a short distance from the residence. Police say that Bear had on his possession, a manipulated .22 calibre firearm with ammunition, methamphetamine, a scale, a knife, and $1,690 cash.
Bear now faces charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a pohibited weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting arrest, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while prohibited, and dangerous driving.
Bear made his first court appearance on Thursday morning.
