PRINCE ALBERT - A man accused of first-degree murder in connection to a body found at the scene of a house fire in Prince Albert's Midtown neighbourhood in March 2021, chose not to enter a plea to the charge.
Keyano Ahenakew, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Jeremy Starblanket, 29.
He is one of three people charged with Starblanket’s death. Henry Ratt and Lorretta Sakebow are also charged.
Starblanket’s body was found at the scene of an explosion and house fire in the 500 Block of 5th Street East, Mar. 20, 2021.
Ahenakew did not appear in provincial court today, rather, his lawyer told the court she expects Ahenakew to enter a plea at the time of the preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 20, at 9:30 a.m.
Ahenakew is also charged with breach of curfew and obstruction of justice. The judge ordered both charges to be addressed Nov. 20, along with the first-degree murder charge. Ahenakew remains in custody.
